My brother Linwood, our friendship is a symphony of shared passions and mutual interests, each note harmonizing to create a melody uniquely our own. Our love for music, photography, and technology has not only deepened our bond but has also enriched our lives in countless ways. Whether discovering golden oldies, exploring new photography techniques, or delving into the latest advancements in technology, from our love for Napster to our passion for Atmos and Hue, our shared interests have been a source of endless fascination and inspiration. Yet, beyond our shared hobbies, it’s our unwavering trust and loyalty that form the bedrock of our friendship. In a world where trust is often a rare commodity, I’ve always known that I can rely on you, Linwood, without hesitation or doubt. Our commitment to each other knows no bounds, and our loyalty remains steadfast through thick and thin. Compassion and understanding flow freely between us, nurturing a bond built on empathy and mutual respect. In times of need, your compassion has been a beacon of light, guiding me through life’s darkest moments. And in moments of joy, our shared understanding has amplified the beauty of life’s simplest pleasures. Linwood, you’ve not only been my friend but also my mentor and mentee, each role intertwined seamlessly in the tapestry of our relationship. From offering guidance and wisdom borne of experience to learning from each other’s perspectives, our mentorship has been a two-way street paved with mutual growth and enlightenment. As we continue to journey through life together, I find comfort in knowing that our friendship is as enduring as it is enriching. Here’s to the countless moments shared, the lessons learned, and the adventures yet to come. Thank you, Linwood, for being the friend, mentor, and confidant that I’ve always needed. May our bond continue to thrive, fueled by our shared passions, unwavering trust, and boundless compassion. Much love my brother! Your friend for life, Ron.
Dearest Booker. Where to begin. I have missed having my dad physically present for many many years. I’ve missed his loving wise firm presence. I’ve missed going to him for advice. I’ve missed his silliness. And I still do. But there is a gift that I have been given in you. It is a warmth, and a light in my heart that in and of itself can never ever been replaced. You have truly become a second father to me all these years later and I couldn’t be more grateful. You have brought your wisdom, your silliness, your strength, your love to my life. In you I find a mentor-giving me parenting guidance, life advice and reminding me by example the importance of creativity, of paying attention and listening, of a quiet curious, keen mind. I find a dad joke master reminding of the joy in silliness just for the purpose of eliciting a smile from those you love. I find one who loves so fiercely who cares so deeply but who does so with quiet certainty-willing to encourage when necessary, push when necessary and give space when necessary. I find a one in a million example of a wonderful black king who I hope my son will emulate and learn from over the years just as he does his father. In you I find that peacefulness that draw so many to you , young and old. In you I have found an essential part of my village, my soul’s family, my heart. Bookster, may you always know how very much you are cherished by those of us who love and admire you. Thank you for being you. Thank you for adopting me, thank you for being my dad.

My Tribute to Booker. I am fortunate enough to search for the right meaningful words to describe the Man that you are. A Man that lets his actions speak more than his words. A Man that bears the burden of his world, and holds it up like with a pillar of strength. I am blessed to see an example of Manhood through you. To see that sometimes it’s okay to be teary eyed, but still hold things together. You show me that it’s okay to find the necessary outlets to enable recoupment. It’s okay to not be rocked by the winds and dashing water. To stand firm. To show rightful and classy expressions. To not seek accolades but do it for the LOVE. It’s okay to be in the shadows while watching over those you protect. I salute you for the great man that you are. You are my role model, and you have taught me so much without saying words towards the thing we call, Manhood. From Andrew Wilson
If you’ve ever spent more than 30 seconds with Uncle Lin, then you’ve definitely experienced what I can only describe as “ if smooth was a person”. I don’t think I’ve met anyone calmer, patient, thoughtful, encouraging, or kind as Uncle Lin. He has this amazing ability to listen with intent and say exactly what you need to hear. To say I’m inspired is an understatement. From music to being a family man, Uncle Lin has always been one I look up to.
I remember the first time Shan told me about you and about how good of a man you are. She loved you and how happy you made her mother. And when I came to the house and finally met you, I wasn’t surprised to find you were one of the kindest, thoughtful, caring men I’ve met. Thank you for being Shannan’s father and for being our rock over the years. Love ya! Rhonda
To our silent hero! Taking care of your family and holding it down for Mom. We see you and love you. T
